- Blakeney Point is one of the UK’s most important nature reserves with one of the largest seal colonies
- Blakeney harbour is a well known sailing location with an active sailing club
- Blakeney along with Cley-next-the-sea and Wiveton comprised the Glaven ports which were once the eighth largest port in England
- Blakeney was once a significant fishing port. It primarily traded with the North east, London and the Netherlands. It took malt and barley to the North east and brought coal to North Norfolk and London
